# Is there a way to make a Journal Entry in Stessa?

Trying to add numbers from Prior years and match it up to tax returns. Please advise!

Stessa does not perform journal entries. It is only single-entry accounting, not double-entry such as Quickbooks.
If you’re starting Stessa for a recent year, such as 2025, you can go back to 12/31/24 and enter summary numbers for each category and property. That is probably the closest you will get to mimicking journal entries.

So there is no way to input Depreciation expense manually?

Not exactly sure what you are wanting to do but you can enter or upload transactions from previous years. We have done several previous years worth of data.
