When a tenant initiates a rent payment, they receive this email
The line that says “You have balance of $0. Woohoo!” needs to say something along the lines of, “Your balance will be $0 once your payment is processed, which may take up to 5 business days.”

The underlying issue is that every lease, including how Stessa issues late fees, cares about when the rent is actually received/deposited, not when a payment is initiated. This will also make the email match the Stessa Rent Pay for Tenants article (which is correct)
For example, a tenant starts a payment on Saturday, 12/31/22 for a rent payment due 1/1/22. Due to the weekend and the holiday (1/2), the payment clears on 1/6 meaning the rent is late despite the language in the email.
