Unable to renew lease even when timeframes don't overlap

When entering a lease renewal time period I am not able to enter the proper dates due to validation errors.
For example:
Original Lease period : 6/1/2020 - 5/31/2021
Renewal period: 6/1/2021 - 5/31/2022

The best I can do is the following, which for some reason is updating the end date of the Original Lease Period without my doing that specifically.
Original Lease period : 6/1/2020 - 5/30/2021
Renewal period: 5/31/2021 - 5/31/2022

@herzjb Thanks for reporting this situation. A few things you can try:

  • Since you are extending the current tenancy, make sure the tenant’s “Move-Out Date” is blank
  • Make sure the “Move-In Date” is set to the same date as the original lease term start
  • Use the “Renew Lease” button to add the renewal period
