I think many people would agree that having the ability to tag a transaction with details that are not necessarily “tax reporting categories” would be super helpful. Here is an example: I pay a contractor for a bathroom remodel. That contractor will need a 1099 at the end of the year. If I can tag that transaction with a “1099” tag, and also categorize it as “R&M,” then I would be able to easily find a list of those who I need to do 1099’s for at the end of the year, while ALSO having it categorized appropriately for expense reporting.
