Ignore children in transaction search filters

At the end of the year, one of the primary tasks I need to perform is look through all transactions assigned only to the Portfolio, and decide which property they go with, splitting as needed.

Unfortunately, there’s no way in the Stessa web UI to filter on just the Portfolio itself, and not also show all the properties in that portfolio. My only option for doing this today is export the general ledger, import into Google Sheets, and use those filtering options to show just the portfolio. This works because the .CSV export splits the single Stessa UI field into three: Portfolio, Property, Unit, which I can filter on individually in a fine grain way.

Same thing is true for categories. I cannot search for transactions just assigned to “Repairs and Maintenance” or “Income” or “Transfers” with the intention of making those more specific by choosing sub-categories.

Pro stessa accounts do this

I have Pro and I didn’t see any of what I described above under premium filters. Please show me how and provide a screenshot.

It might not be exactly what your looking for, but you can search on portfolio and all of the properties do come up. Next can select property (one of the categories) and will sort everything by property in order. Can have the portfolio level be shown first.

The category part: Yes Stessa does this as I read what your saying. Go to Categories, Choose Income for example and it shows only Income with all the subcategories and can select any and move to any subcategory
