I used to ask for a public API, but I recently learned from a startup building AI agents for real estate that there’s a better option: an MCP connector.
A public API is really built for developers — it requires someone to write custom code to connect to it. MCP (Model Context Protocol) is different: it’s an open standard that lets everyday users like us connect their AI assistant — Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, etc. — directly to an app, no coding required. Right now, getting an answer means either clicking through the UI to piece it together, or exporting a report and combing through it ourselves. With an MCP connector, we could skip that and just ask, “What’s my rent collection status this month?” and get the specific answer straight from Stessa.
Why it makes sense:
For landlords managing multiple properties, this would mean more than just quick answers. We could automate real workflows on top of Stessa’s data — things like flagging late payments and triggering follow-ups, generating renewal or delinquency reports on a schedule, or syncing rent roll data into other tools automatically. Hope Stessa considers this!
