This is my first month using Stessa Online Rent Collection.
A tenant is concerned that her payment was not applied to Jan 2026 because it still shows a blank “payment” next to “Charge” under “Rent For Jan 2026” as seen in the attached image.
I see her point but as I am unfamiliar with how this works I’m not sure if the way the payment is being shown is indeed being applied to Jan 2026 Rent?
@weomhomes To me, it appears to be recording as expected. You should log in from your side of the portal and view the tenant ledger. It should look something like this:
Payment is the tenant’s action. Charge is the system’s action.
In your mobile screenshot, Stessa is applying January’s rent charge (bottom half). Then the tenant is making the payment (top half).
Think of the Charge and Payment as columns. Charge is positive (money owed to you), payment is negative, and they cancel each other out.
