Feature Request: Monthly Outstanding Rent Report
I would like to request a new reporting feature that would make monthly rent collection much more efficient for landlords who manage multiple properties and units.
Report Name: Outstanding Rent Report (Current Month)
Purpose:
Provide a quick, consolidated view of all tenants who still owe rent for the current month, without requiring the landlord to navigate through each property and unit individually.
Suggested Report Fields:
- Property
- Unit
- Tenant Name
- Monthly Rent Due
- Amount Paid This Month
- Outstanding Balance
- Due Date
- Payment Status (Paid / Partial / Unpaid)
- Last Month’s Payment Amount (or indicate if paid in full)
How I Would Use It:
Most of my tenants are expected to pay rent by the 3rd of each month. Beginning on the 3rd (or any date thereafter), I need to quickly identify which tenants have not yet paid so I can send them a payment reminder.
Currently, I have to open each property and each unit individually to determine who has paid and who has not. This becomes increasingly time-consuming as the number of properties and tenants grows.
A single report showing only tenants with outstanding rent for the current month would save significant time and improve monthly rent collection.
Suggested Enhancements:
- Allow filtering by:
- Current Month
- Property
- Due Date
- Payment Status (Unpaid or Partial)
- Include totals showing:
- Total Outstanding Rent
- Number of Tenants with Outstanding Balances
- Enable export to Excel or CSV.
- Option to send reminder emails directly from the report or generate a list of tenants needing follow-up.
I believe this would be a valuable feature for landlords managing multiple properties, as it would streamline rent collection and eliminate the need to manually check every unit each month.
