How to record charitable contributions in Stessa
@lrrpropertiesllc I’m going to give you an answer that you won’t like and that answer is - you can’t. Best alternative is to pick a category you don’t use and leave yourself a note to manually adjust at tax time. Next best choice is “Admin & Other” > “Gifts” but it will be combined with your other admin categories on reports.
I’m not sticking up for Stessa on this but generally charitable donations do not go on Schedule E - the foundation of this software and bookkeeping platform. I usually see them on Schedule A (Form 1040).
