I watched the June 2021 What’s New This Month video regarding the new split transaction feature. One thing I noticed with this feature is it does not keep it as one financial transaction (which technically it is). When I’ve used other financial accounting software, they usually handle split transactions as one transaction line item, then show a breakdown of the category and transaction amount split. The way you handle split transactions, makes it look like two separate transactions (ie two separate purchases on the same date).

I would love this as well. I worry about getting audited and having the IRS ask about something, then not remembering it was a split transaction and not having a matching receipt to the expense…
This would be really helpful to me as well. I am much happier when I can see a clear 1-1 mapping of lines in my bank statement to lines in my books.
