Several times this year, while manually reviewing my transactions, I’ve noticed instances where Stessa only shows one transaction while my credit card has two distinct transactions. Yes, the transaction was with same company for the same amount of money on the same date, but that’s quite common when running multiple rentals. The transaction ID was unique, which I might recommend the developers start taking into consideration when identifying duplicates.

If getting the algorithm perfect proves to be difficult, one alternative option to consider might be to give users an option to turn off duplication detection.
