Tenant Ledger duplicates rent

My Tenants lease was renewed in July. I updated the lease dates to reflect the new annual rent amount. Now, the tenant ledger says that the tenant is behind on payments. I have checked, the tenant payment is listed as income/rents and I have included the tenants name.

Did I mess up with the new lease? How do I determine what is the actual cause, and correct the problem?

Yes, the best practice here is to set up a new lease term by using the “Renew Lease” button, as explained in the help article, Managing Leases & Tenants in Stessa. The expired lease details need to remain in place so that the system can properly reconcile prior rent payments. Hope that makes sense!
