Zelle & Billpay features ETA

Adding my voice here as well. PLEEEEEEASE add Zelle. If not added in the next few weeks I’ll be jumping ship. Everything else is awesome.

Just got this from support:

“​There are no plans to implement Zelle at this time.”

Ugh why is this such a hard thing for them to do…

Idk, it’s a bummer though! I’m looking at Baselane and some other options for now which is too bad.

Does Baselane have Zelle?

Thanks for chiming in. Others please speak up. This is a major hiccup for me. My renewal is in March for pro so would like to hear more specifics before committing to another year

I’m adding another comment stating we will leave Stessa for another platform if Bill Pay isn’t implemented or promised within the year. We’ve managed 16 unique properties on Stessa for over 4 years and still don’t have a suitable method to pay the cleaning person or other service providers. I can’t even re-issue a security deposit.

Thanks for chiming in 100% agree, especially with not being able to refund security deposits or pay our gardeners. Fortunately I’m using Venmo linked to the Stessa debit card but this is NOT an ideal solution for paying people.

We’re also using Venmo, and have linked a combination of Stessa debit cards and checking accounts. However, there is a limit to the number of accounts you can add on Venmo, so this workaround breaks quickly. Additionally, Venmo seems to have the worst reliability when downloading transactions into Stessa consistently. Finally, we get duplicate transactions that need to be managed when there is a debit on the Venmo account, and a Debit on the checking accounts it’s pulling from. This could be avoided by not linking Venmo and using bank transactions to track expenses/income. However, this method breaks if you ever use funds from the Venmo balance, which wouldn’t show up on the bank’s ledger.

Thanks for chiming in. I’ll admit that I’m a bit disappointed with Stessa and how long getting these features out is taking.

Hey everyone, I spoke to someone at Stessa last week and they told me that BillPay is constantly being discussed but unfortunately it’s not an easy one. Apparently Thread doesn’t want to support it so they might have to integrate something from a third party. t doesn’t really matter what the story is, it needs to work.

Really appreciate everyone’s strong votes of support for adding Zelle. If it was up to the Stessa team, we would add this in a heartbeat. That said, Stessa is a financial technology company and is not a bank. Banking services are provided by Thread Bank, Member FDIC.

We can’t add Zelle support to our roadmap or provide an ETA because it’s not something we can deliver without cooperation from external partners and the small group of large national banks that control the Zelle network.

Thanks for chiming in. I understand the position Stessa is in but also feel like we were told one of the reasons for moving to Thread bank 18 months ago or so was to pave the way for features like Zelle and Bill pay.

Did I miss something or interpret the banking partner switch communication incorrectly?

If Zelle is not possible. Can we at least be able to send checks from Stessa? I did not renew this year due to this feature missing. Planning on switching over to Baselane due to this. They have it working for several years now.
