Red Flag in Transaction

What is the intended use for the red flag in the transaction listing?

@keithschuster It’s intention is to be used as a follow-up/review later feature.

Can I suggest a 3rd state for this flag say to GREEN to indicate its been REVIEWED and also don’t count green flags as transactions needing reviewed. This is so important - for me - to be able to know I basically reconciled all of my transactions… I need to know i put eyes on it

Desperate for this! Or let me default everything to “Flagged for Review” so that I can uncheck them as I get them reconciled.

I think most are happy with flagged for review available under the Pro subscription, its an improvement to the previous transactions page. Adding another status seems like a niche need and there are other ways to accomplish this. See below.

@apskiprop, guidance for default to “Needs Review” is covered HERE.

@keithschuster,you can have change all transactions to import under the “Needs Review” window. Once a transaction has been reviewed, you can remove the red flag and it will move to the standard transactions window. May not be your preferred method, but it should accomplish what you need.

With all due respect, you don’t really know what you are talking about.

Yes - The flagged for review function is an improvement. No doubt. But suggesting a janky workaround which assumes I’m going to know which property a transaction is going to belong to isn’t helpful. Half the point of the way Stessa does things is to be able to leverage the automatic assignment and categorization of things.

Opting out of that automation isn’t a solution.

So - an additional status or a setting which allows me to default all transactions to “Needs Review” OR perhaps some other option I’m not thinking of would address the need. Removing functionality I currently use does not.

As for this being “Niche”? Maybe it is? I can’t honestly say. It comes down to how many people blindly rely on the automation to categorize things (Not a criticism) against how many people find themselves struggling to keep track of what they’ve reviewed and what they haven’t.

For me, it’s a ton of rework and duplicated effort that I continue to try and find a better way to manage.

No offence taken. Just tying to provide some options for you (my experience tells me that Stessa is SLOW to rollout requested changes, even with the new paid versions).

Something else that you may consider. All of my transactions are imported with long transaction names and notes. By cleaning up the name of the transaction, I can tell if I’ve reviewed the transaction. See below.

What pulls in as “Orig Co Nameplanet Home Orig Idxx Desc Datexx Co Entry Descrach Pmts…” I rename to “Planet Home Lending - Payment”. Its a great visual indication that I’ve reviewed or split the transaction. It also provides good searchability in for future reference.
