Right now Stessa only supports a single monthly due date per lease. That works fine for standard single-family rentals, but it completely breaks down for any portfolio where rent isn’t collected monthly.
I manage a 14-door salon suites property, and weekly rent collection is the industry standard for suite rentals, not the exception. Right now I have to work around this by manually adding charges to each tenant’s ledger every week, which means no automated rent reminders, no automated late fees tied to the actual due day, and a real risk of billing errors every single week across 14 units.
This isn’t just a salon-suites problem either. The same gap affects:
- Short-term and mid-term rentals billed weekly or biweekly
- Co-working or flex-space operators
- Any landlord moving toward more frequent collection to reduce tenant default risk
Adding support for weekly, biweekly, or fully custom rent schedules (not just a due-day-of-month field) would let Rent Collection, late fees, and automated charges actually work the way they’re supposed to for this entire category of real estate, instead of forcing us into manual workarounds every cycle.
