Hi. Just reviving the thread to see if anyone found a solution.
I also have PNC bank and stessa is not updating the accounts (after apparently initially working).
Went through Stessa Tech Support but no luck.
What did you all end up doing?

I’m having the same issues.
The bank connection issues are a real problem. I had to change a banking password which has somehow broken my stessa connection entirely and they can’t seem to get it resolved after nearly 2 months of “having the team look into it”. Customer service is lacking.
Devin - do you guys have an ETA on when these bank connection issues will be resolved? I’ve tried all the go-to fixes and none have worked.
Following. 2 months with no resolution. This is getting ridiculous.
It shall be called Customer No-service
I am having importing issues as well. I am paying for Stessa at 35.00 a month. I switched to this platform last fall. It stopped importing back at the end of last year. I have gone back and forth with C/S both on the phone and through chat for about a month. I thought that we had gotten the issue resolved. Now I have noticed that the platform is not updating again. I just don’t know what to do. I am so frustrated. I really love the concept of this platform, but I’m about to give up and figure something else out. Any suggestions?
I’m still having this issue. Is there an ETA on when it will get fixed? I don’t need it to update every five minutes or anything like that. Even once a day at 3AM would be fine. But I do need to know it will be updated consistently. For now, some accounts work some of the time. It’s just not a realistic way of running the books.
Try as I may, nothing seems to work or update the transaction ledger. I have nothing on the system since March 6th. Keeps saying there is an error connecting to the bank. When I put in my credentials for the bank (that I confirmed are correct) it says they’re incorrect. So, not sure what else I can do here.
Anyone know what to do since Stessa made it clear they have no idea what to do.
My transactions aren’t all coming over either. I was going to pay but saw it’s happening on a paid account too, so that won’t help. I tried refreshing, etc. that doesn’t help.
We know how important it is for rental property owners to have seamless financial tracking and bank connections play a crucial role. The reality is that these bank connections are provided through third-party data aggregators and are inherently complex and sometimes unreliable. There are 10,000+ financial institutions in the US and the aggregators prioritize certain banks over others when it comes to fixes. This might be obvious but it’s also worth noting that when you bring a less well known local bank or credit union into Stessa, you are more likely to experience connection challenges than if you bank with a major national institution or open a Cash Management account within Stessa.
We lean on our third party partners as much as possible on behalf of every Stessa customer and our team members have many years of experience working with our aggregators. If you’re not hearing from us regularly after reporting a problem, it’s nearly always because the aggregator is not prioritizing your bank for a timely fix and there is nothing new to report. We are of course continuing to work with our partners in the background with the goal of getting you reconnected to your data.
Note that we also offer other ways to get your transaction data into Stessa, including easy OFX and CSV file imports and banking options with virtually 100% connection reliability.
I have several broken connections in my account. When I try to “Fix Them” the first thing I’m presented with is some “starting migration” dialogue box. When I enter the credentials, I can sometimes get past the initial authentication and maybe even get past the 2 factory, but “IF” I can even get that far along, I end up at an account selection screen where nothing works. I don’t know what Stessa is doing with their connection services, but it’s absolutely terrible now. Nothing seems to work right anymore. If this can’t be fixed once and for all I’ll need to find another option. This just takes too much time to deal with.
This is called the “weakest link” in your business plan. The idea was great, until you had to rely on it.
The migration dialogue flow is an attempt to connect to your bank with a different third party aggregator. The problems you’re having further down the flow after the MFA process can be reported via a 1:1 support conversation via the chat bot in the lower right corner once you’re logged in to Stessa. They’ll need info about the specific banks/accounts you’re trying to connect in order to investigate.
Fintech is complicated. All businesses make assumptions about how the ecosystems in which they exist will evolve over time. That said, I don’t expect the aggregators will ever deliver 100% connection reliability to every single financial institution in the country.
In the meantime, thousands of Stessa customers currently enjoy reliable data connections to a wide range of US banks and mortgage providers. You have options to move your banking to a larger institution that has invested in making your data more accessible via third party applications and/or can also consider our native banking options inside Stessa.
idunno Devin - seems an awful lot easier to just switch to another, one of many, websites offering the exact same service as your site, than it does to change my banks (which can’t even be done due to who holds the mortgages).
Your solution is for everyone having this issue - and it seems like an awful lot of us - to either (i) switch banks which isn’t going to happen or (ii) trust Stessa even more by putting our liquidity into your own online bank?
I must say, I’m grateful and thankful that you made the decision very simple for me.
