Zelle & Billpay features ETA

Bill pay is a must. This way most of the expenses will automatically be posted. Now I have to transfer the money out to my outside bank account then manually enter it into Stessa. Double work and increased chances of human errors.

Melio is the solution until Stessa adds a Bill Pay feature!!! It’s a Bill Pay service that pays your bills on demand, on a scheduled date, or recurring payments. Funding source is ACH (free), or credit/debit card (2.9% fee). Destination can be ACH or a mailed paper check. I have tested this with Stessa.

This is perfect for things like HOA payments that commonly only accept paper checks. I also use it for recurring transfers to myself, as a way of taking owner draws from the business. Also good for paying small contractors who don’t always accept Paypal or Venmo. I searched high and low for a solution like this and this was the only perfect solution I could find. :grinning:

When is bill pay going to be implemented. I am getting tired of transferring all my money out (with a daily limit of $1500) in order to actually pay bills. It is time consuming and annoying to manage the cash this way.

please either implement the bill pay soon or get rid of the $1500 daily transfer limit!!!

I may have to change platforms to Buildium if this is not done soon.

I agree with this thread. I am struggling to find the most effective way to return deposits. Still keeping my other account for this and using Venmo. My CPA wants us off Venmo. I’d love a way to pay bills (such as the landscaper, etc. ) and return deposits out of my applicable accounts within Stessa.

Both attempts at using Melio to send checks from a Stessa bank account failed. Yours are still working?

The the best of my knowledge, yes. Although, mine are scheduled recurring payments so I wouldn’t know until I get an error or something.

Are yours ACH or checks?

Both ACH and paper checks

Melio works great for me. Maybe you need a business account in Stessa for it to work. That’s what I also use to schedule transfers out of Stessa.

I thought these new Stessa Management Accounts were going to offer bill pay…

Is there a way to set up bill pay from the cash management account. I tried to add the account and it wants log in info. Do I need to set this up with the actual bank?

Any idea how close this is? Getting to the point it might be a dealbreaker.

I thought bill pay was going to be part of the pro level account. I’d really like to see bill pay added. Can’t embrace the cash mgmt account without it.

I’m using Online Check Writer for paper checks set to automatically mail monthly to my gardener. $1.25 fee per check sent is inexpensive to me. The OCW interface is a little difficult yet once you get it set up, you can forget about it until you need to change the payment.

I’ve pretty much given up on the Stessa promise to have some sort of billpay on their platform. I’ve used Stessa for many years and sadly, the customer service has dropped dramatically in the past year, despite upgrading to their higher plan. I am currently looking for another provider managing out rental property bookkeeping, banking, etc.

However, in the meantime, I have utilized Melio for bill pay to vendors and it has been excellent! It’s free and I can use multiple bank accounts for paying vendors (for different properties, etc) and the vendors can choose which form they’d like to receive payment in (check, ACH). The best part is it is banking institution agnostic, meaning that I can use account from different banks for payments, which will make things much simpler if I switch away from Stessa. Sad to see the service of Stessa decline as I have been a very loyal user over the years and have always been impressed until recently. Maybe they’ll turn it around.

I would like to see an option to pay my bills directly from the Cash Management bank account. This way I can replace my bank accounts and only use Stessa instead of both, Stessa and Bank’s Bill pay options.

The best workaround i’ve found, is to have a single account for security deposits, then have checks printed and just use them like it’s 1994. I truly didn’t know feature-minimal checking accounts existed like this. I’m holding out hope for better days ahead.

I have pro as well, it all seems essentially useless since we have to do multiple extra steps since we cannot bill pay in Stessa. Please add this asap or I’ll have to swap to a platform that provides this service.

Agree, it’s frustrating that they promised this as a new feature 6 months ago when they changed banking providers and we haven’t got any update. Disappointed
